Track 6 Bodybalance 33!

Can anyone do the pose in track 6 of Bodybalance/Flow 33.

Are there any tips or teaching suggestions that can be used to teach this pose?

You are invited to come to Va Bene health and fitnesscentre in Reeuwijk, Holland. We do a class together and share thoughts and technique tips on BB and this Yoga pose.

My english is insufficient to help with this pose.  Annelies

Hi I would like to come over there and do that track.

I think that track requires a strong abdominal section. I am also learning to centre my body before I lift off (not going to far forward or back.)

Also, keeping a strong back and tucking in the abs and chin to chest.

I guess by the time you say all of that the class is over

Tonight we had our first class with BF #33 (we're a little behind,) and I found that I could only do this pose if I turned my hands out rather than forward and lifted myself with the tips of my fingers rather than my palms.

Pipera, as you are an instructor, am I still getting the benefit if I am doing the pose in this fashion?

(Though, I will definitely keep trying to do it properly, I just think my arms may be too short compared to my very long torso. I'll try to curl up even more and drop my shoulders as low as they can go next time I practice.)

In a traditional yoga class Yoga Blocks are used. I have long arms so I can do the movement. If you want to use animal fingers then that is OK.

Animal Fingers are what you are going is lifting off the ground with your fingers.

There is another option is to put your hands and arms as close as possible together before the lift off.

My advice would be go to a Yoga / Pilates Teacher and get some advice in how to do the pose from their perspective. They use Yoga Blocks and they can advise on the right options for you.

Thats how I see it.

After your post, I went out to Lululemon and picked up a couple of yoga blocks...

...and now I'm happily doing the move in track 6.

Thanks for the advice.
